George Bramhall
A self-taught artist with a talent for showcasing nature
Natural beauty forms the basis of George BramhallÕs paintings. As a professional fly-fishing guide and instructor, he has explored and fished the beaches and marshlands of New Jersey and MarthaÕs Vineyard, Mass. These experiences, he says, give him a Òhands onÓ feel for the ever-changing beauty and colors of these places. Often, he takes photos and draws sketches, which later become paintings.
Bramhall, who was born in Morristown, N.J., began painting and teaching fly-fishing after retiring from a career in the investment banking business in New York City. Before then, he served as a World War II pilot.
Although he is primarily self-taught as an artist, Bramhall has painted and studied with many artists. Currently, he is represented by North Water Gallery, Edgartown, Mass.; Lambertville Gallery of Fine Arts, Lambertville, N.J.; and William Ris Gallery, Stone Harbor, N.J. His paintings are in many private collections in the Unites States, England, Ireland, and France as well as the corporate collections of Centocor Ortho Biotech Inc., Muhlenberg College, and Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Bramhall maintains residences both in Solebury, Pa., and at the Jersey shore. He has won prizes at and shown in many Bucks County juried shows, including the Coryel Gallery, Lambertville, N.J.; Lorah House, Doylestown, Pa.; New Hope Arts Commission Century Show, New Hope, Pa.; and Artsbridge Prallsville Mill Show, Stockton, N.J.
